Sinterbide has application specific nozzles on offer, one in particular is the Mini Angle nozzle. This small version of a regular angle nozzle, is small enough blast clean in restricted access spaces especially when you need to blast clean behind angles. The angled ports direct abrasive out of side of nozzle at approx. 45 degrees. The tungsten carbide angled liner is housed in a quality brass jacket with ¾” NPSM threads and is available with one or three exits.
The main purpose of a nozzle is to build pressure via a constricting bore and accelerate abrasive particles so that they leave the nozzle exit with enough velocity to perform surface preparation work. Nozzles with a Venturi bore design are the most preferred as they are more productive in most blast cleaning applications. Straight bores are used but mainly in short nozzles, ceramics and carbide inserts.
Long venturi Tungsten carbide Nozzles are most popular in blast cleaning operations as they perform well, are economical and hold up well under most working conditions. Tungsten carbide will last longer than ceramic. Unless you have to use a ceramic nozzle then we recommend looking at upgrading to a tungsten carbide nozzle, it’s tougher and last longer.
There are a number of companies and stores selling carbide nozzles. If you wish to invest in a good and durable product, we recommend you research and find a good reliable source to purchase products.
